Lice

Lice are usually visible crawling at the base of feathers, with lice eggs clustered on feather stems. They often congregate near more downy feathers, for example under wings and around the vent. Allowing access to a dust bath may help prevent infestations, but should they occur specialist powders are available to treat lice.
